The story of Brandon and Diannah Perry’s Thoroughbred bloodstock career began in 2000 with the acquisition of a 50-acre portion of the renowned former Classic Acres in Ocala, Florida.
Combining decades of diverse equine industry experience with a shared vision for excellence, the Perrys established Paragon Farms, a commercial Thoroughbred nursery focused on the development and management of quality bloodstock.
In 2003, their expanding operation took them to the heart of the Thoroughbred industry in Lexington, Kentucky, with the acquisition of Newgate Stud. Encompassing more than 210 acres of prime Bluegrass farmland, Newgate Stud was a first-class Thoroughbred facility and a
division of a global operation owned by His Royal Highness Prince Fahd Salman of Saudi Arabia, one of the world’s prominent Thoroughbred breeders and owners.
Their years in Kentucky marked a period of substantial growth and achievement. The Perrys developed and managed private and syndicated Thoroughbred acquisition portfolios, buying, selling, and brokering millions of dollars in bloodstock annually. Their business extended across the breeding, sales, acquisition, and racing sectors, with involvement in Thoroughbreds competing on the sport’s most prestigious stages, including the Triple Crown and Breeders’ Cup.
That expertise attracted the attention of Irish billionaire businessman and Thoroughbred enthusiast Eamon Cleary. Cleary ultimately acquired Paragon Farms, but the transaction came with a significant distinction: he insisted that Brandon and Diannah remain in place to manage his bloodstock portfolio. His decision reflected the confidence he placed in their experience, judgment, and ability to identify, acquire, and manage Thoroughbreds at the highest levels of the industry.
